Analyst, finance operations

This role is not a typical month end reporting function, however, will require strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong professional relationships with various departments, alongside leading projects. This position will report directly into the Assistant Controller – Operations, and is responsible for providing detailed analyses, pertaining to multiple Operational functions.


Project Management
  • Identifying and assessing deficiencies in the Operational and Production processes, and having a key role in the implementation of corresponding resolutions
  • Thorough documentation of findings and analysis
  • Assisting in the implementation of internal controls over manufacturing and production operations
  • Adapting to changing environments and being a strong link between Operations and Finance
Inventory Analytics
  • Inventory control – Assist in annual inventory count (i.e. planning, organizing and valuating)
  • Working with the Assistant Controller and Cost Accountants, in the  implementation of Inventory Controls to optimize system quantity and valuation
  • Working with the Purchasing/Procurement Team to provided assistance in Inventory allocation and management
  • Assisting in the ongoing organization of Material Planning and Inventory Control
Production & Work Order Management
  • Aftermarket Parts - Accountable for Creating & Closing Work Orders on a daily basis
  • Aftermarket Equipment – Crosstrain with Cost Accountant to provide support, when required
  • Kanban Parts & Weldments – Crosstrain with Accounting Administrator to provide support, when required
  • Assisting KPO team (Production Supervisors) with additional requests
  • Evaluating internal deficiencies and analysis of optimal procedures
  • Working with the Assistant Controller to implement Production Metrics for ongoing efficiencies
  • Mastering company’s ERP system and new software programs on an ongoing basis
  • Working with the Assistant Controller in the automation of manual processes, once deficiencies are found and corrective measures can be integrated
  • Assisting the Finance Team with consistent and timely operational reporting, to assist in decision making
  • Keeping up to date with new operational and financial knowledge, procedures and opportunities

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration
  • 3+ years’ work experience in a Financial/Operational work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing/Production industry a definite asset
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent work ethic with a strong desire to learn
  • Professional appearance and manner
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • ERP experience preferable
  • Infor Visual experience a definite asset
  • Fluency in Portuguese an asset
