StrongArm® IVR303

Overview

The wall-mounted Blue Giant StrongArm® IVR303 is a universal vehicle restraint that secures a wide range of trucks and trailers to the loading dock using an electro-mechanical arm.

Engineered to accommodate standard and irregular Rear Impact Guard (RIG) profiles, the IVR303 provides consistent mechanical securing across diverse trailer types, including dry vans, reefers, intermodal container chassis, and straight trucks.

Designed for high-cycle distribution environments and mixed trailer traffic, the IVR303 enhances safety, efficiency, and operational confidence at the loading dock.

POSILOCK™ TWO-POSITION LOCKING SYSTEM

The patented PosiLock™ two-position mechanical locking system secures trailers within a horizontal working range of 10" or 13" (254 mm or 330 mm) from the building face. This two-stage locking mechanism automatically engages the closest locking position available, reducing trailer creep and improving stability during loading and unloading operations.

SMARTRELEASE™ 

SmartRelease™ is a logic-controlled disengagement system that automatically manages occasional failure-to-release conditions, helping to maintain safer, more predictable dock operations with minimal operator intervention. During loading and unloading, trailer creep can occasionally force the RIG tightly against the restraint arm. If excessive pressure prevents release, SmartRelease™ detects the failure-to-release condition, signals the driver through the traffic light system to back up, and automatically releases the arm, once pressure is relieved.

This automated process reduces the need for manual intervention, minimizes dwell time, and supports “no boots on the ground” safety policies in the loading bay.

INTELLIGENT POSITIONING SYSTEM (IPS)

The IVR303 features a submersible Intelligent Positioning System (IPS) that continuously monitors the position of the restraint arm throughout its operating cycle. Unlike mechanical limit switches that require precise alignment, IPS uses digital sensing to communicate real-time arm status to the control panel. This provides reliable confirmation of engagement, release, and system position for both operators and drivers.
